$200 Billion Class Action Light Cigarette Lawsuit Certified
A $200 billion class action lawsuit against the tobacco industry for its marketing of light cigarettes was certified by a federal judge.
Eastern District of New York Judge Jack B. Weinstein certified that no matter how vast and complex the claims, the U.S. Constitution demanded that a jury hear the plaintiffs’ case.
The judge suggested that an expansion of the class could assist the parties in negotiating a global settlement. The plaintiffs intend to seek treble damages.
Weinstein rejected the defendants’ claim that the suit was too large in scope and affected different people who smoked for different reasons.

I have been smoking for 32 years and 1/2 of that smoking mediums to ultra-lights. I am curious to know how this was discovered and why it took so long to find this out. Also how do I go about finding the documents concerning this case and who filed it.

I am one of those foolish people who thought if I switched to light cigarettes it would not be as bad as smoking full flavored ones.
I have tried to quit smoking many many times with no success.
I have tried everything quit smoking thing on the market.
And of course the brand I smoke is Marlboro Lights.
I once took 3 weeks off of work in the attempt to try and quit, but the craving for the cigarette was stronger than my desire to stop.
I was told that Marlboro put additives in the tobacco that makes them more addictive, is this true?
