Anti pulp mill body invites people to join lawsuit against pulp mill
Tasmanians Against the Pulp Mill has invited the residents to act as a leading plaintiff in the lawsuit against the pulp mill. It invites them to be a part of the class action seeking compensation for any damages if the pulp mill is built.
Tasmanians Against the Pulp Mill has set up a security encryption system and potential litigants can now begin registering online or by post.
The company expects a large number of people to response. The spokesman of the company Bob McMahon said that preliminary estimates of the potential threats to health, business income and property equate to about $2 billion. He also says,
“You talk to anyone that’s been trying to sell their house and they’ll tell you they’ve had to discount their house prices substantially below valuation in order to even stay in the market, as it were, and very few houses or properties have been sold.”
