Class Action Lawsuit Against Alan Vester, N.C. Car Dealership Filed
A class action lawsuit was filed against Alan Vester, a North Carolina car dealership over unfair and deceptive trade practices, negligence, fraud and other violations of state law.
The lawsuit alleges that dealerships have been using unfair and deceptive trade practices to get financing for customers who may not have qualified, and it says the practice has been going on for the past four years, involving 90 percent of the chain’s vehicles.
One allegation in the 36-page lawsuit is falsified down payments. According to the suit, Vester customers put down no money, yet their contracts and bills of sale said otherwise.
Another allegation is straw purchases, where a person’s name is on the contract and their identity is used to get financing, but they are not making the payments on the car. Another claim on the suit is falsifying and inflating customers’ income in order to secure financing.

My mother passed away3/05. She had recently purchased a vehicle from Baker chevrolet. After she passed I talked to the bank where it was financed and they told me as long as the pymnts. were made and ins. was maintained on the vehicle everything would be ok.There was never a WILL made out. Last night (8-3-06) they came and picked up the vehicle because they said that being the car was never transferred into my name that I didn’t have legal right to the car. There was one pymnt. owing on the car that was past due. Is there anything I can do about this.
Sincerely,
Sherry Britt
