Class Action Lawsuit Against Zale Corporation

Another class action lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas by Lerach Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP on behalf of purchasers of Zale Corporation common stock during the period between February18, 2005 and May 5, 2006 (the “Class Period”), charges Zale and certain of its officers and directors with violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934

The complaint alleges that during the Class Period, defendants issued materially false and misleading statements regarding the Company’s business and financial results. As a result of defendants’ false statements, Zale’s stock traded at artificially inflated prices during the Class period, reaching a high of $34.42 per share in August2005. Defendants took advantage of the inflation in Zale’s stock price caused by their misstatements, selling $15.8 million worth of their Zale stock.

If you wish to serve as lead plaintiff, you must move the Court no later than 60 days from July 19, 2006.
