Columbus Parents Files Class Action Lawsuit Against Baby Bottle Manufacturers

Columbian parents Staci Collier, Paige Engle and David and Kelly Johnson have filed a class action lawsuit against five baby bottle manufacturers at the U.S. District Court. They have alleged these companies for containing bisphenol A in their bottles. The same element is found in some spill-resistant cups and sports bottles also.
The synthetic chemical, commonly known as BPA, has been linked to health problems in the brain and other areas and in behavior. The charge accuses that these companies are aware of the health problems associated with the element but they did not disclose it.
The alleged companies are Avent America of Bensenville, Ill.; Handi-Craft Co. of St. Louis, also known as Dr. Brown’s; Evenflo Co. of Vandalia; Gerber Products Co. of Parsippany, N.J.; and Playtex Products of Westport, Conn.
To conclude, this is not the only instance of its kind. Many such cases have been filed against baby bottle manufacturers so far.
