Fusarium Keratitis from ReNu with MoistureLoc Contact Lens Solution Lawsuits Keep Coming
Again in the month of May seven more lawsuits have been filed up on behalf of seven individuals, claiming that they have been negatively impacted by using ReNu with MoistureLoc contact lens solution. The suit is filed on May 13th at St. Clair County.
The seven were described as enduring extreme pain and suffering, photophbia, corneal infection, ulceration and/or scarring, loss of vision, prolonged and ongoing medical treatment, mental anxiety and distress, and diminution in quality of life.
ReNu with MoistureLoc contact lens solution from Baush & Lomb, manufactured at the Greenville, S.C. plant was recalled by FDA in 2006. But there are some cases which are emerging due to the solution which have been stocked at home from long time and thus has lead to Fusarium Keratitis infection.
Fusaruim Keratitis is a fungal infection that causes severe pain in the eye. Imagine if someone poured sand into the front of your eye, then massaged your eye with a thousand tiny needles, and squeezed the eyeball. That’s how one person described the pain associated with Fusarium Keratitis after using ReNu with MoistureLoc contact lens solution from Bausch & Lomb. It single word it can be hell.
That is one of the reasons why Baush & Lomb is facing upwards of 400 lawsuits over its products.
