Securities Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Opteum Inc.
A class action lawsuit has been filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, on behalf of the purchasers of the common shares of Opteum Inc., regarding its September 2004 Initial Public Offering and/or the December 2004 Secondary Offering, and including shareholders who purchased shares in the open market between November 3, 2005 and May 10, 2007.
The plaintiffs are represented by Brower Piven who seeks damages on behalf of the class.
The complaint charges that the company has violated federal securities laws by providing false statements during the class period that had the impact of triggering an inflating on the market price of the company’s securities. As a result, the purchasers had to overpay for the securities.
