Pennsylvania Superior Court has ordered the retail giant Wal-Mart to pay $185 million as part of the class action settlement with its employees. The lawsuit was filed by the employees of the company that alleged the company of underpayment.

The State of New Jersey has agreed to go for a settlement and to pay $750,000 to the family that accused the state of negligence charges. The federal court has ordered the American Hard rock band Great White to pay $1 million to settle the lawsuit filed by the victims of a Rhode Island nightclub fire ignited by their concert’s fireworks in 2003. The court also pleaded the band manager to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter in 2006.

The Chicago based singer and performer Ne-Yo is likely to receive nearly a million dollar as a part of the lawsuit settlement from the concert promoter company Rowe Entertainment Inc. The Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Malcolm Mackey ordered the company to pay Ne-Yo last week.

In what can be termed as win- win situation for the gay community, the University of Hawaii has decided to open its accommodations for committed same-sex couples. The University has decided to revise its policy as part of the settlement with a gay couples who were denied access to the University housing.
