The discrimination charges against the Carolyn’s Old West Cafe heads for a settlement. The federal court has signed a settlement order to the lawsuit involving a pregnant lady. The cafe is ordered to pay $20,000 to settle the lawsuit.

Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit finally acted on the long-stalled warrantless wiretapping lawsuit, Hepting v. AT&T. In a two-sentence opinion (PDF) released today the court has finally acted to the controversial FISA Amendments Act (FIAA) signed into law last month.

In the first lawsuit of its kind, a Virginia resident has filed a lawsuit against the maker of the diabetes drug called Byetta. The lawsuit charges that the drug maker has failed to adequately test and monitor the side effects of Byetta.

In a major lawsuit of its kind, three immigrants from Iraq are given the citizenship status in US District Court. All three has filed the lawsuit challenging the delay in the citizenship procedure that takes three year to complete. The preliminary settlement reached Monday in U.S. District Court before Judge Marsha Pechman.

At least 1000 workers of the Service Employees International Union, have filed a class action lawsuit against the Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger for ordering 10,000 layoffs. The Jasper County Public Administrator Rita Hunter, faces a class action lawsuit. The class action accuses that Hunter was careless in obtaining guardianship and conservator-ship, and that she charged the woman about $4,500 for her services. The Seattle SuperSonics authority said that the lawsuit brought by the season ticket holders can not attain the status of class action lawsuit. The basket ball group says that the Seattle fans who bought season tickets had too many different motivations for their purchases to be considered a single group.
