Tasmanians Against the Pulp Mill has invited the residents to act as a leading plaintiff in the lawsuit against the pulp mill. It invites them to be a part of the class action seeking compensation for any damages if the pulp mill is built.

In an email, the Garden City Group announced its settlement in a class action lawsuit against PayPal filed in 2005. Both the parties decided to go for a settlement, in the lawsuit that charged the PayPal, for lack of proper communication and information about its consumer protection programs related to specific types of transactions.

The victims of the illegal rallies may have a reason for relief. The Presidential Council on National Competitiveness and the ruling Grand National Party have agreed to start a class action lawsuit against illegal rallies to protect the interest of the victims. If everything goes right, the victims can sue for compensation in near future.

The lawsuit between the day laborers and the Orange County sheriff’s office has come to a settlement last week. However, the attorneys released the agreement on Wednesday. The settlement stems from the federal harrassement lawsuit regarding the workers’ right to call rights to stand on sidewalks and seek work without being harrassed.

The dispute regarding voting rights in the Bethlehem Area School District, is expected to come to an end. The U.S. District Court Judge Legrome D. Davis approved a lawsuit settlement that will allow voters to choose six at-large board seats and three regional positions.

The discrimination charges against the Carolyn’s Old West Cafe heads for a settlement. The federal court has signed a settlement order to the lawsuit involving a pregnant lady. The cafe is ordered to pay $20,000 to settle the lawsuit.

Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit finally acted on the long-stalled warrantless wiretapping lawsuit, Hepting v. AT&T. In a two-sentence opinion (PDF) released today the court has finally acted to the controversial FISA Amendments Act (FIAA) signed into law last month.
