2 NJ women seek class action status in Ticketmaster pricing lawsuit

Class action status sought in NJ Ticketmaster suit

TRENTON, N.J. — Two women have sued Ticketmaster in federal court in New Jersey and are seeking class-action status.

The suit filed Tuesday in federal court in Trenton claims the company fraudulently raised prices by sending online customers to a subsidiary reseller.

The women say they paid too much for tickets to see Britney Spears and a production of “The Wizard of Oz.”

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages and is similar to one filed this year by the state of New Jersey over Bruce Springsteen tickets.

Ticketmaster settled with the attorney general’s office in that case by agreeing to change its online sales process.

Ticketmaster did not return telephone messages Wednesday.
