Former Quest Energy CFO charged with wire fraud
OKLAHOMA CITY — A federal grand jury in Oklahoma City has indicted the former chief financial officer of Quest Energy Partners LP on three counts of wire fraud.
The U.S. attorney’s office said Wednesday that David Grose tried to defraud the company of $1 million by manipulating an equipment order.
If convicted, Grose faces up to 20 years in federal prison on each count and a fine of up to $2 million.
Prosecutors say they uncovered the alleged fraud during a wider investigation into alleged wrongdoing by executives at the Oklahoma City-based oil and gas exploration and production company.
Former Quest purchasing director Brent Mueller pleaded guilty in March to failing to report Grose’s actions and trying to cover them up. He is awaiting sentencing and faces up to three years in federal prison.
