Lemon car owners should be careful about Secret-Warranty

Manufacturers always try to avoid refunds or replacements on lemon vehicles, they will use all their tricks to cover up the situation if any defect is found in a vehicle. The most favorite weapon the manufacturers always love to use is called  a “secret warranty” , beware about, it can act as a deflection to consumers with valid lemon law complaints.

According to a leading California lemon law attorney Norman Taylor-

A secret warranty is a strategy that manufacturers use to avoid a recall.

Under a secret warranty, manufacturers will pay only for repair of a particular defect in a particular kind of vehicle, even after the warranty has expired.

They also call them ‘warranty adjustment policies’ or ‘goodwill gestures’ And even these have to be pried from the manufacturers by loudly complaining consumers only the squeaky wheel actually gets the grease.

Presently the percentage of defective vehicles, or lemons, is astoundingly high in United States. The recently published 2009 Car Complaint Index  which is based on the complained filed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), shows,  the Land Rover LR2, the Mitsubishi Lancer, the Pontiac Solstice, the Dodge Avenger and Subaru Impreza are top listed lemons.

So be careful about car manufacturers and never take it granted that popular brand cars would never become a lemon, and if you unfortunately find yourself with a lemon then it is best to contact a qualified and experienced lemon law attorney to tackle tricky manufacturers and their secret warranties.
