5th arrest in robbery slaying at Wash. Wal-Mart
TACOMA, Wash. — Police have made a fifth arrest in the slaying of an armored car guard during a robbery at a Wal-Mart store near Tacoma, Wash.
Lakewood police Lt. Heidi Hoffman says the girlfriend of a suspect was arrested Thursday in Tacoma and is accused of helping him and lying to police. She was booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of robbery and murder.
The first four people arrested pleaded not guilty to robbery and murder charges Thursday in Pierce County Superior Court.
The two men accused of shooting the guard Tuesday and grabbing a bag of money are charged with aggravated murder, which could carry the death penalty. Another man is accused of driving the getaway car, and a woman who worked at Wal-Mart is accused of helping plan the robbery.
