Queensland Health Minister Backs Strategy for Rapid Cataract Surgery

The Queensland health Minister Mr Stephen Robertson has supported the new strategy that is likely to be in favor of the patients of cataract surgery at the Herbey Bay Hospital. The strategy will be helpful for patients who have to wait for long hours for the surgery. From now the patients will be treated under the Surgery Connect Scheme. The new law will be helpful to save the time of the patients. He also criticised the media that show no support to the new scheme.

“They will receive in the not-too-distant future a letter from the provider that will lock them in for a date as distinct from languishing on a non-urgent wait list with no date set for them to actually receive that non-urgent surgery,” Mr. Robertson said.
